Commercial Lines Account Manager
As a Commercial Lines Account Manager at Jones Insurance, you are the broker and trusted advisor to our clients, not just selling insurance, but guiding them through smart, strategic risk management. You provide proactive insurance insights, help identify exposures, and tailor commercial coverage solutions with professionalism and care. While you understand the full insurance transaction process, administrative and service support is provided by our internal Commercial Lines Service Brokers, allowing you to focus on sales, renewals, client relationships, and risk advising.
This role requires a balance of relationship building, consultative selling, and industry knowledge. Candidates must not currently be employed by a strategic commercial client.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development
- Identify coverage gaps, cross-sell opportunities, and enhancements for commercial clients.
- Prepare, present, and close new business and renewal proposals.
- Develop and execute sales plans through referral networks, prospecting, and partnerships.
- Meet and exceed defined sales targets (monthly, quarterly, annually).
- Support marketing efforts and campaigns to generate qualified leads.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry changes and market trends.
Relationship & Account Management
- Serve as the lead advisor for a portfolio of commercial clients.
- Provide expert guidance on insurance options tailored to client risk profiles.
- Coordinate with CL Service Brokers for transactional and servicing needs (e.g., endorsements, certificates).
- Guide clients through the claims process, providing insight and support from start to resolution.
- Conduct regular client reviews and risk assessment conversations.
- Maintain all necessary client documentation and keep CRM systems current.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years in a commercial insurance brokerage or business advisory role.
- Sales-focused mindset with a passion for delivering value to clients.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and risk advisory practices.
- RIBO or CAIB license preferred.
- Experience working with CRM, lead management tools, and Office 365.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work autonomously while collaborating with internal teams.
