    Income Replacement Benefit

    Limit options:
    $400 / week (70% of $31,200 annually)
    $600 / week (70% of $31,200 annually)
    $800 / week (70% of $41,600 annually)
    $1,000 / week (70% of $52,000 annually)

    Scenario
    Michelle is 43 and lives in Thunder Bay with her spouse, two kids, and her 71-year-old mother who lives with them. Michelle works full-time in payroll for a construction company and earns $75,000 per year. She is the more stable income earner in the household. In August, she is driving home from their camp outside Shuniah on Highway 11/17 when she is seriously injured in a collision. She cannot return to work for several months, and her income was what kept the household running.

    Without this coverage:

    • No weekly income replacement
    • Her full $75,000 income drops to $0 during recovery
    • Mortgage, groceries, and household bills must be covered from savings or her spouse’s income

    Avery is 20 and lives at home in Thunder Bay while attending Lakehead University. They are not working during the school year and help with younger siblings after school.     Danielle is 39, a single parent with two children, and she also supports her father who lives nearby and relies on her for meals, transportation, and medications. She is injured in a snowstorm-related accident while driving home from work and cannot provide care.

    Without this coverage:

    • Must pay out-of-pocket for both childcare and eldercare

    With this coverage:
